Club Meeting - David Pásztor

Dear Rotarians,

As Hungary prepares for parliamentary elections on April 12th, there is a lot of talk about the shifting political climate in our neighborhood. To help us move beyond the headlines, we are pleased to welcome Dávid Pásztor to our next meeting.

Dávid is an experienced journalist from investigace.cz, an independent center dedicated to investigative reporting. Rather than predicting poll results, Dávid will share his perspective on the factual realities currently shaping Hungary, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic. Our thanks to András Auber for organizing this special evening.

The subjects that will be discussed are the following:

• The "How" Behind the System: A brief look at how the Hungarian political and economic landscape has evolved over the past 16 years.
• Fact-Checking Daily Life: How issues like the economy, public transport, and education are discussed in the current public discourse.
• The Role of the Journalist: What "objective information sharing" looks like today and why investigative work is a vital tool for any stable democracy.
• Regional Comparison: Drawing on his experience at investigace.cz, Dávid will offer a brief comparison of the political landscapes across our Central European neighbors.

It will also be our pleasure to officially welcome Katarina Khosravi and Kieran Spencer into the Club.

Come and join us!
