RCPI was privileged and delighted to host Pavel Fischer as our guest speaker at our recent club meeting.
Pavel is a Czech independent politician, diplomat and senator who graduated from Charles University and also successfully finished Ecole Nationale d'Administration (ENA) in Paris. He served as Head of the Department of Politics in the office of the Czech president Vaclav Havel.
In 2018 he was a candidate in the Czech presidential election and finished in third place. He was subsequently elected to the Czech Senate where he holds the position of the Chair of International Committee.
In his speech to Rotarians and Guests, Pavel talked about Vaclav Havel and politics and linked the past with the present. Coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution, Pavels speech and thoughts were extremely poignant and thought provoking.
Club President Fernanda and Club Sectretary Helena thanked Pavel for taking the time and for enthralling us with his words.
