English for Novy Prostor

The club has a new project working with Novy Prostor, the organisation that creates the Novy Prostor magazine and trains and manages homeless people to sell them. The homeless thereby earn a little money and more importantly have some work to do and some self-respect.
In discussion with N.P. Vlasta and Gerry came up with the idea of an "Academy" for the vendors where they could be encouraged to learn new things. The most popular subject chosen by them was Basic English and lessons began on 7 October with Gerry ably assisted by Prague Rotaract President Michaela. If you see one of these vendors on the street, please introduce yourself to them in English - and don't forget to buy the magazine.
