A special and historic evening at our Club Meeting: bringing together members and guests with several of the Partners, with whom we collaborate in pursuit of service. Primary focus of the evening was on our strategic project Dragon Boat Charity Challenge, which is an interface/umbrella to most of our other projects, potentially to all projects.
Ota, Community Service Chair, and Jonathan, PR & Communications Chair, presented a list of our Partners, being both donors and beneficiaries, which includes: many local charities, NGO’s which were created by our Club, other Rotary Clubs, companies and municipalities. We have a truly impressive network around us, which enables us to bring help to a large number of people, who are assisted by the organisations we support. We heard from some of them, who joined the event:
Modry Klic - Radovan Netusil, Deputy Director, thanked us for helping them buy two minibuses to transport their clients to and from daycare.
Muzy Detem - Karel Navratil, Founder, thanked us for involving children from the orphanages Muzy Detem supports in our Dragon Boats Charity Challenge and helping them to reach more children, who might otherwise be overlooked.
APLA JC (South Bohemia) - Eva Kocourkova, Director, thanked us for the financial support we provide, which helps APLA provide specialist and tailored support to many families living with autism.
Tymova Spoluprace - Jan Nemec, Team Coach, posed the question - ‘which team wins: the one which is most physically fit, or the one which is mentally strongest?’ His experience is that the team which is best prepared and best able to adapt in the moment, will typically have the edge. This is demonstrated by the repeated victory of the RC Stare Mesto Dragon Boat crew, average age 72, who were represented by George Podzimek.
Nadace Partnerstvi - Jonathan Wootliff brought a message from our Partner for tree-planting, emphasising the importance of the contribution we make towards their target of one million trees.
Jonathan's key message was: this is our first event of this nature, showing the depth and breadth of our community and the strength that we can bring together for the benefit of all members and Partners. We will continue to nurture and grow our Partnerships and provide occasions to bring our donors, beneficiaries and members together. We will hold more similar events.
Ota’s key message: each of us can contribute to strengthening and growing this community, by engaging with our Partners and bringing others from our personal networks to participate, for example in the Dragon Boats Charity Challenge, which will take place on 14 May 2027. We may also identify potential beneficiaries and introduce them to the Club.
