Zdeněk Michálek, the 2018/19 District Governor, visited our club meeting and, as well as presenting the club with an award, made a speech outlining not only the history of the district but also the vision of the future. The vision is clear and wholly aligned to Rotary International:

The D2240 vision is
a common Czecho-Slovak District,
living the Rotary values

To achieve the vision we have to set some priorities and these are centered around the membership of Rotary:

Membership development
Stop the decline in numbers
Improve the membership base
Rejuvenate the membership base
Strengthen club support
Reduce administration

This flows to a series of requests, starting with the presidents of the clubs in D2240:

PRESIDENTS OF CLUBS
Introduce the district strategy to its clubs In co-operation with members, they create their own club strategy and action plans
The agreed goals will be entered into the data of your club at Rotary Club Central
DISTRICT GOVERNOR ASSISTANT
Encourage presidents to create club strategies They will help with the insertion of goals into the Rotary Club Central
PRESIDENT DISTRICT COMMITTEES
They discuss the district strategy with committee members and develop strategies for their committees, supporting the district strategy
DISTRICT GOVERNOR
In cooperation with DGE, DGN, IPDG, DG Assistants, Committee Chairmen and Rotary and Rotaract club presidents, will ensure a gradual implementation of the strategy.
