RCPI is the lead international partner in develping a global grant WASH project for rural villages in the Rajsamand District of Rajasthan, India. In these semi-arid areas there is a great need to imprive water management and availability as well as to significantly improve hygiene practices. The majority of the population resort to open defacation, many schools do not have adequate toilet facilities for boys and girls and do not have hand washing facilities or hygiene education.
Working with RC Udaipur Heritage and JatanSanthan an experienced project partner, our project aims to provide schools and the community with hygiene training and education, install or upgrade school and anganwadi toilet facilities and build water management capacity.
We expect to reduce water and hygiene related illnesses, improve school attendance and build water management capacities in five villages.
