Raising funds for and supporting good causes is the heart of what Rotary, and Rotary Club Prague International, sets out to achieve. Our members work on many different initiatives to raise funds which we proudly donate to good causes. The list below is just a selection - in 2017 alone we donated CZK 1.2m to charitable organizations.
 
June 2017: CZK15,000 donated to The Centre for Talented Minds
The donation was presented through Rotary by Linda to Jeanne Bočková of the Centre for Talented Minds. CTM aims to motivate talented hardworking young minds in Central Europe to excellence in education; help prepare students for admission to university studies at home and abroad and Create opportunities for the professional development of teachers and instructors.
June 2017: CZK50,000 donated to APLA Jižní Čechy, z.ú.
Lucie Hnojnová received the donation on behalf of the charity from RCPI President Sanan.
APLA South Bohemia mission is to actively support people with autism and their families to live in their natural environment by providing professional services and transfer of special methods of work.
The funds were raised through the 2017 Rotary Club Prague Dragon Boat Challenge.
 
June 2017: CZK 20,000 donated to ICTUS
ICTUS is a charitable organisation which helps those who have suffered a stroke. The charity assists with rehabilitation and convelescance. The aim is to allow the return to a normal and independent life wherever possible.
June 2017: CZK180,000 donated to Nadace Naše dítě
Zuzana Baudysova received the donation on behalf of the charity from RCPI President Sanan.
The charity helps abused children, abused, mentally and physically handicapped, orphans and children who find themselves in a difficult situation since 1993.
In addition to direct financial support to vulnerable children and organizations that protect children, provide free legal advice, Nadace Naše dítě creates awareness campaigns and strive to promote legislative changes to better protect children.
Nadace Naše dítě cooperates with several international organizations and participate in programs of child protection within the European Union. Our Child Foundation does not receive funding from the State and it is therefore completely independent.
The funds were raised through the 2017 Rotary Club Prague Dragon Boat Challenge.
June 2017: CZK 100,000 donated to the Nadace Olgy Havlové
The donation was received by Marie Svobodová on behalf of the charity. The Olgy Havlové Foundation supports NGOs in the field of health, social, humanitarian and educational if you aim for a dignified inclusion of people with disabilities, abandoned children, the sick and the elderly.
The funds were raised through the 2017 Rotary Club Prague Dragon Boat Challenge.
June 2017: CZK 140,000 donated to Zivot 90
The donation was received by Tereza Sobotova on behalf of the charity.
The charity Zivot 90 was founded in 1990 with the goal of Enabling Senior Citizens to live a fulfilled life where they are happiest - at home. Since 1995 the charity runs a community center for senior Citizens, their families and carers in the middle of the historical part of Prague.
The funds were raised through the 2017 Rotary Club Prague Dragon Boat Challenge.
June 2017: CZK 40,000 donated to Muzy Detem
In the past 6 years, the main activity of our association help teenagers from foster care facilities in preparation for an independent life. Muzy Detem visits the children in many children's homes, foster care facilities, educational institutions, youth homes, social care homes, shelters and refugee camps.
March 2017: CZK 10,000 donated to The Mathilda Foundation
The Mathilda foundation, a registered charity,  was founded in 2010 and its mission is to support individuals with severely impaired vision. Though an individual Member's donation RCPI was able to channel 10,000 CZK to the Foundation to help with their work assisting the blind and partially sighted in the Czech Republic. Luboš Krapka from the foundation thanked RCPI in the name of the people they help for our excellent support.

January 2017: CZK 20,000 donated to Modrý klíč o. p. s.
RCPI raised funds through the sale of mulled wine at Christmas time in order to help this worthwhile charity.
Modrý klíč is a nonprofit nongovernmental organization that provides children and adults with intellectual and multiple disabilities social services. Modrý klíč was founded by the initiative of parents of children with disabilities in 1991 (history).
Social services, day care , weekly clinics and relief services are offered to users in a variety of forms adapted to the type and depth of their disability and their age.

 

 
January 2017: CZK 40,000 donated to Polio Plus
Rotary is an international community that brings together leaders who step up to take on the world’s toughest challenges, locally and globally. The eradication of polio is one of our longest standing and most significant efforts. Along with our partners, we have helped immunize more than 2.5 billion children against polio in 122 countries. We have reduced polio cases by 99.9 percent worldwide and we won't stop until we end the disease for good.
Supporting Polio Plus is an ongoing commitment from the club with multiple donations throughout the year.
