Exchange students Laura and Anusri joined 85 other Rotary International Yourh Exchange students on a tour of Europe. The Euro Tour is part of the Youth Exchange Programme where young people from another country are hosted by Rotarians and live, learn and attend school as part of a family. The programme is very active in our District and is seen as one of the most successful Youth Exchange programmes in the world.
The Euro Tour took the 85 students from Prague to Paris and on to Spain. From Barcelona they crossed by ship to Italy where they enjoyed the sights of Rome, Florence, Pompai and Venice. "The whole trip was just an amazing experience" said Laura, "we learnt so much about the history and culture of Europe as well as about ourselves - two weeks on a tour bus is a good way to get to know one another!" For Anusri the trip was the highlight of the exchange: "I had to pinch myself to check that I am not in a dream. We cried when we had to say good-bye to our fellow students and guides."
